Series Review | The Stormlight Archive
Yes, you should read The Stormlight Archive. No, there is no chance of it disappointing you. And if you want more than that, here's a detailed list of everything Brandon Sanderson is epically good at (and a few things he's not - after all, what kind of blogger would I be...)
ARC Review: Mail Order Minotaur
❤️❤️❤️❤️ Mail Order Minotaur by Lilth Stone Tags: monster romance, sweet, happily ever after Pages: 212 Publication: October 9, 2023 Amazon A shy human. A minotaur sex worker. Book Review | The Name of the Wind
For something so iconic, I was at least expecting The Name of the Wind to do the wheel quite well. Maybe some chrome rims or a flashy spoke design. Instead, I found the MC deeply annoying, the women (few that there were) underdeveloped, the magic system derivative, and the conflict cookie-cutter.
ARC Review: Crossing Acheron by HG Bride
ARC Review? Well, I finally did it: I cancelled my Kindle Unlimited subscription. I receive not many, but a few requests to do ARCs. Honestly, as I'm becoming more involved in the book world and trying to write some things of my own, I really wanted to try reviewing some ARCs. ★★★★ Crossing Acheron by … Continue reading ARC Review: Crossing Acheron by HG Bride
Book Review | What Lies Beyond the Veil
First, I went into this book expecting nothing and got something?? Honestly, I tend to be critical in my reviews, but man they tore this one up on goodreads lol. The plot is ok: a protective veil guarding the humans and fae shatters, resulting in the fae flocking to find their mates. ★★★ "There was … Continue reading Book Review | What Lies Beyond the Veil
Book Review | Fourth Wing | The Most-Hyped Book of the Year
Pride and Prejudice only has a 4.2. Lord of the Rings has a 4.4. A Court of Thorns and Roses, which is oft-compared to Fourth Wing (a comparison about which I have MANY opinions) has a 4.2. What in the world is up with all this hype for Fourth Wing??
I Found a Zodiac Academy Dupe That I Actually Like
Arguably, my most popular blog post ever is my absolute evisceration of Zodiac Academy. I hated it. A lot. I thought it was because I hated the tropes—but turns out I just hated how the tropes are done in those fateful first few books. Now I've found a series that does a lot of the same stuff Zodiac Academy does, just...better.
Book Review | The Serpent & the Wings of Night
There's a reason TikTok is drooling. Serpent (I'm going to call it serpent, it has an incredibly annoying name but I promise it's a great book) has all the tropes you love in romantasy; it gives spice, vampires, enemies to lovers to enemies, one bed, resentful training montage, who did this to you, and more.
Book Review | Godkiller
A perfect fantasy book, in the archetypal sense: perfectly plotted, familiar yet creative. It reminded me why I fell in love with reading in the first place. Here's why.
