Seiichirou Kondou is a 29-year-old accountant and major workaholic. When he’s accidentally transported to another world, not only does he demand a job, he starts whipping the lackadaisical Royal Accounting Department into shape! But when he gets in over his head and nearly dies from overwork, the handsome Commander Aresh steps in to save him, and the two develop a unique, physical relationship…as a form of medical treatment?!

Had I not already read the manga, the book and writing style would be rated wayyy lower. Everything, and I mean everything, is telling rather than showing. The writing style comes off as super straightforward, almost as if the author is giving me a lecture about what is happening. However, this is a translated novel, and after translating some manhwa myself, I now give way more grace to translated novels because that shit is hard.

Now, this book is a carbon copy of the manga, I mean basically the exact same, and I was kinda hoping we would get more information and details, but no. However, I also kind of liked that it was an exact copy? It was like having two different versions of the same thing to enjoy. But if you didn’t enjoy the manga, then definitely don’t try to read the light novel. However, if you did enjoy the manga, then you should 100% buy and consume the novel. It’s a great book to add to your collection.

Well, we did get a little more of Sei’s inner thoughts and a smidge more of Aresh’s. Reading Aresh’s descent into becoming extremely expressive due to being frustrated with Sei’s behavior was highly enjoyable. The relationship between Sei and Aresh is fun to read about as their dynamic is super interesting and cute in itself. The epilogue is also so stinkin adorable.

This is ranked 16+ and I think that is a fair rating. The spicy parts are pretty much toned down, not going into detail, but there is still much left to the imagination.

If you’re looking for an isekai BL fantasy where everything is explained to you, this is perfect. I really appreciated that, especially since I read most of it on a plane and didn’t have to strain my brain trying to figure out what’s what and who’s who.

“But this way is more efficient, isn’t it?”
