After finding a mysterious book in the imperial garden, Princess Philomel not only discovers that the book’s villain shares her name, but that other events in the story are coming true too. Now, she believes that she’s an imposter and that the real princess will take her rightful place, leading to the execution of Philomel the Fake! So to avoid a tragic death, she has to make sure the rest of the book doesn’t come true. Can this fake princess change what’s already been written?
So, I’ve been looking for new and good webtoons to read, but despite their being more webtoons then ever coming our rn (I think), I can’t seem to find anything good. For reference, I really like Secret Lady, Kill the Villainess, etc. I beg of you to please give me some good recs.
Anyways, this Webtoon Wednesday is about Philomel the Fake. It looked promising, but like all the other webtoons lately, I feel like it lacks something.
Kind of a review…
I haven’t finished it and I don’t think I will, which is why this is sort of a review, lol… There were a lot of plot holes and I really just didn’t find any of the characters likable.
Thoughts while reading…
So, even at 9 years old she finds a “book of prophecy” but doesn’t remember her past life. It’s woefully unrealistic that after reading one book a 9 year old completely changes and basically now acts like a grown adult
Every time I see the name Philomel, I end up pronouncing it as falafel.
Should I keep reading? I’ve given it 2.5 stars for now. Does it get better?
