I would like to dedicate day 3 of the reread to the Suriel. However, I must say that I have been thinking of the Suriel, in its fame in the fandom, as anything but a he. I now see the error of my ways but can’t help wondering if Miss Maas might have made an iffy decision there–for I know no creature to be more one of the girls than the Suriel.
“Stay with the high lord” has officially been highlighted in my physical ACOTAR edition. For those of you reading for the first time, don’t worry about what that means. I said don’t worry about it.
Not in love with Tamlin yet but can I just say that every time I open an SJM book I am newly amazed at her ability to make a reader say “you know what, this extremely hot guy…what if I’m falling for him??” *tucks hair behind ear*
If I’m putting on my editor hat, I can say that it’s definitely the way she shows the FMC noticing little things about the TDH (tall dark and handsome) that make her think ‘oh–oh, he’s actually got a heart. He’s soooo powerful but maybe he’s actually caring and tender. Because that thing that he just did was actually really kind and I’ve never known nor felt that I deserve kindness’.
